CapivaraOS Snout

The family's curious snout — the next CapivaraOS spin, still in the planning stage.

Project in planning. CapivaraOS Snout doesn't have a code repository, kickstart, or build yet — this page describes the proposal for the spin ahead of development starting. There is no ISO, preview, or download link for Snout.

What's planned

CapivaraOS Snout will be the family's third distro, bringing the GNOME desktop alongside the KDE Plasma (Marsh) and Xfce (Pup) sides of CapivaraOS. The plan is to use the official Fedora Workstation/GNOME spins as a reference — the same tooling (kickstart + Anaconda) and the same care to keep official Fedora repositories as the base, with as few additional packages as possible.

Like the other CapivaraOS distros, Snout should ship with its own visual identity (wallpapers, boot theme, login screen), Brazilian Portuguese and an ABNT2 keyboard layout configured out of the box, and Anaconda as the installer.

Why GNOME?

GNOME is Fedora Workstation's default desktop, focused on simplicity and a modern, consistent experience. Snout's proposal is to offer that same clean GNOME experience, with CapivaraOS's visual identity on top — a complement to Marsh (more customizable) and Pup (lighter).
